Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing and is based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” that flows through our bodies. It is a gentle healing technique that aims to improve the body’s natural flow of energy, activating our natural healing response and to help open and balance the Chakras.
Chakras are energy centers located throughout the body, each chakra corresponds to a certain emotion, thought pattern, organ and part of the body.
There are 7 main chakras that run along our spine, starting at the base of the spine to the top of the head.
A blocked, underactive or overactive chakra can disrupt the body’s natural energy flow causing mental, emotion, physical and spiritual imbalances. Causes of an imbalanced chakra may include too much stress, overwhelm negative thinking, trauma, lack of exercise, lack of sleep and poor diet.
If ones “life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress but if it is high, we are more capable or being happy and healthy.

As a Reiki practitioner I can channel universal reiki energy to balance the chakras improving the body’s energy flow.
Reiki can be done in person – In a sacred safe space you will be offered a beautiful warming cacao or herbal tea to help bring calmness and open the heart space. After a brief chat you will lay on a massage table fully clothed and relax while I gently place my hands on different positions over the body to promote healing and energy flow for your highest and best good. You may experience sensations such as heat, floating or tingling.
Reiki is equally effective via distance- with permission I can tap into your energy field (as everything is energy) and perform reiki to open chakras, promote healing and energy flow. After a session an outline of the findings will be emailed promptly.
In person sessions – I suggest you be well hydrated and avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior. Wear clothes you are comfortable in and that enable you to fully relax. I ask that you be open and receptive to receive the energy and be ready to fully immerse yourself in a relaxing healing experience.
Distance Reiki – You have the option to create a safe space & meditate (lighting a candle and diffusing oils can be helpful) at the same time the healing is taking place or if you prefer or you can go about your day as normal. I ask you to be open and receptive to receive the energy and healing.
During a reiki session purification and cleansing takes place and toxins can be released, this may cause you to experience processing and detoxification symptoms after your treatment.
PROCESSING SYMPTOMS CAN INCLUDE:
After a session it is important to support and be kind to your body while it processes the change
You can do this by:
1. Drinking plenty of water – Hydration is important to support your body through this process to allow energetic rebalance. It can also help reduce and alleviate symptoms of tiredness and headaches.
2. Rest –Be kind to yourself, listen to your body and allow yourself to rest if possible while your energy body rebalances.
3. Eat Healthy – Eating healthy while limiting your intake of alcohol, sugary and processed foods to allow your body to integrate and rebalance.
4. Grounding – Connect with mother earth, bare foot out in nature is a great way to recharge your energy and allow her to support your rebalancing process.
5. Move your body - Trust how your body wants to move, you may want to go for a gentle walk, run, dance or do some somatic exercises to assist in shifting the energy.
6. Meditation - Meditation is a beautiful way to relax, calm your nervous system and move through the energy and emotions that may come up.
7. Salt Bath - Having a bath with sea salt or magnesium salts added can be a beautiful way to support your body after a session. It can help detox and release any residual negative energy and promote relaxation.
